Filter materials

Functional ceramic and mineral media to fill water filter cartridges.

Seven functional materials in three groups. They are mixed with activated carbon or placed in a dedicated stage of the cartridge, depending on the effect you want from the water.

Documentation

RoHS certificates, MSDS, NSF/ANSI 42 certificate and test reports are available for the materials listed with these marks. Ask us and we will send the files for your product.

Mineral-forming media

Raise pH and add minerals to pure or RO water.

Magnesium ball (99%)

Magnesium ball (99%)

NSF/ANSI 42MSDSTest report
Form
Sintered spherical bead, 2 mm
Main components
Magnesium and SiO2
Typical dose
50 - 70 g per cartridge, mixed with GAC carbon

Turns purified water (such as RO water) into alkaline water: it raises pH, lowers ORP (a deeper negative value) and generates active hydrogen to scavenge free radicals. Being sintered, it is non-flammable and keeps a stable output over a long service life, unlike loose magnesium chips or flakes.

pH control ceramic ball

pH control ceramic ball

RoHSMSDS
Form
Ceramic ball, Ф3 or Ф8
Releases
Calcium (Ca) and magnesium (Mg)

Alkalizes and stabilizes the pH of the water. It acts as a pH buffer and slowly and steadily releases Ca and Mg into the water. A moderate effect, typically raising RO water from pH 6.0 - 6.5 to pH 7.5 - 7.8.

Coral sand

Coral sand

RoHS
Form
Granule, 5 mm
Releases
Sodium (Na), calcium (Ca) and other minerals

Adds minerals to the water and improves its taste by releasing a range of minerals such as sodium and calcium.

Antibacterial media

Keep the final cartridge and the water free of bacteria. One of the two types is normally enough.

Antibacterial ceramic ball

Antibacterial ceramic ball

RoHSTest report
Form
Ceramic ball, Ф3 or Ф5
Test result
99.9% E. coli removed in 24 hours

Ceramic ball that complies with RoHS safety requirements. In a 24-hour test it removed 99.9% of E. coli bacteria (100 g of balls in 1 L of water).

SA ball (Super-Antibacterial)

SA ball (Super-Antibacterial)

MSDSTest report
Form
Spherical bead, dark brown, 7.5 mm or 10 mm
Typical dose
About 10 balls per final cartridge (about 3,000 balls per kg)

Outstanding bacteria-killing ability, with close to 100% kill rate in the manufacturer’s test report. Only about ten balls in the final cartridge are needed. Does not use nano silver.

Water-activation media

Functional ceramics that energize and activate the water.

Far-infrared ray ceramic ball (Pico TR ball)

Far-infrared ray ceramic ball (Pico TR ball)

RoHS
Form
Ceramic ball, 4 - 5 mm

Emits far-infrared rays and activates the water.

Tourmaline ceramic ball

Tourmaline ceramic ball

RoHS
Form
Ceramic ball, 5 - 10 mm

Produces a very small electric current and generates negative ions (anions), which act on the water molecules through a temporary electrical discharge.
